a voice timeless beyond its era

KATE DEL is a highly versatile and accomplished vocalist and recording artist based in the North East Ohio area, where she has built a distinguished career in the music industry. A cornerstone of her local music scene, Kate performs regularly with Backbeat, a premier wedding and event band, and has earned acclaim for her exceptional talent and diverse musical expertise. Her journey as a professional musician is deeply rooted in a rich family heritage of musicianship.

 

Kate’s musical education began at the age of eight, and from an early stage, her passion for music became evident. Her formative years were shaped by her involvement in a Grammy Award-winning high school music program, which ignited her desire to pursue music professionally. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Findlay. At Youngstown State, she studied classical voice performance, music education, and minored in French horn, further broadening her musical proficiency.

 

Kate's extensive repertoire and expertise in various vocal genres have led to numerous prestigious opportunities and collaborations. She has performed at renowned venues such as New York City’s iconic cabaret spot 54 Below, alongside Rumer Willis and Tony and Grammy-winning producer Michael J. Moritz Jr. Her impressive resume also includes performances at, BB King’s Jazz Club, and the notable occasion of singing the National Anthem for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Cavaliers, among others.

 

In addition to her work with Backbeat, Kate maintains a vibrant freelance career across North East Ohio. She performs with her acoustic duo,  and lends her voice as a backup vocalist on various projects. Notably, Kate was commissioned to write and perform an original song for several events at the 2022 Cannes Lions Festival in Cannes, France, which led to the release of her debut original track, "FEARLESS."

 

Kate’s creative endeavors extend beyond performance. She has released two critically acclaimed lullaby albums, "Cradle Songs" and "for the Wildflowers," recorded for her daughter Sophie in collaboration with partners Alexandre Marr and Joe Richley, respectively. Both albums have achieved notable success, topping over 50 playlists on Spotify.  Her brand new album "Cheers to Christmas" is set to be released November 1, 2024 including seven brand new jazz arrangements of holiday classics.

 

Aside from her music career, Kate is a published author of the children's book series "Marshmallow's Big Adventures," with a second installment set to be released in December 2024. She is also the proud owner of Harmony Lane Studios in Poland, OH, where she provides music-centered classes for children aged 0-5 and their caregivers.
